Jeff: I think I've always had a knack for product given my past roles. Like I had to come into companies, build out teams and processes,
I hated the true accounting part of my job, which is probably horrible to say as a former CPA. But I like looking at what my team's doing manually, what things aren't working for us, like how can I improve and fix things going forward?
Hi, I'm Jeff Alley. I'm the head of product for quote to cash at Everest.
I was the global revenue controller at PagerDuty. I was the first revenue hire there. Took them through IPO and prior, I held various roles in revenue accounting different hardware software companies, but then started my career at KPMG.
One thing that changed my worldview, if you will, was iTunes when it first came out, I remember. That just changed my world. I didn't have to carry around CDs and a CD player. I remember having the first iPod as well and just thought how revolutionary that was.
The thing I'm most excited about with Everest is our ability on the order to cash side to handle a lot of complex modifications. I [00:01:00] always ran into that in software that I used didn't handle. So we had to handle it manually outside the system and then having revenue in the system as well. Every company I worked with, prior to this, revenue was either in Excel, it was manual, or we bought a third-party tool that sat on top of whatever GL we had. I'm very proud that we've been able to tackle that issue and make that easier for our customers.
