An AI Agent Demo from our customer Brady Nicholas at Spectora

As a senior accountant, Brady didn't want some agentic AI accountant making changes in his ledger. But when he learned how Everest deploys AI as an assistant that's auditable and governable, he went from skeptic to evangelist.

Brady Nikolas: My  name is Brady Nikolas. I'm a lead accounting manager at Spectora, which is a home inspection software company based out of Denver, Colorado.

I  would consider myself an AI skeptic from the beginning, just in a sense of I didn't want AI to replace critical thinking, and I didn't want it to replace my job. I didn't want it to replace the people around me, and I didn't want to have this staff accountant role of AI in my system.

So when I started seeing AI use cases as more of an assistant or a reporting tool on top of what I'm already doing, I was sold on it. I do a lot of work now that's outside of creating journal entries and doing my accounting work that I like to do by myself, but I'm seeing AI in use cases to where it can speed up my reporting. It can speed up my month end process, and can really assist me to be more than just an accountant. It helps me be this reporting powerhouse that's able to expedite from my managers and helps me be a better partner to all the teams around me.

Alright. I'm gonna show a couple AI agents that I've created that I'm gonna be using on a regular basis.  So I'm starting off in my GAAP income statement  here, and I'm going down to the AI agent  screen.

So in here we can see the ones that have already created. So let's take a look at this first one, which says revenue trends. I use  a simple prompt here that I would get from my manager. So he would come up to me and ask, "Hey, Brady, show me the revenue trends for 2025."  So instead of me having to comb through the data, I'm just gonna plug this into Everest and create an AI agent for it. So here it is. Let's submit it. Take a look. So I'm gonna run this right now, and what it's gonna do is gonna produce a series of texts and it's already running for me, I can see this creating for me, and I can see a breakdown of revenue by account. I can see key observations talking about growth patterns, where the revenue is coming from. And then trends that I'm seeing throughout this time period.

So we can see moderate growth challenges that the business might be facing just based on the numbers. then finally, we have an overall outlook showing robust and accelerating business with strong fundamentals. So again, something that my manager will come to me ask for on a regular basis. I can plug it into Everest as an AI agent and have it create a full level of text for me.

Let's look at one more now. I'm doing a lot of work with other departments and they're coming to me asking, "Hey, how much am I spending this month?"  So with a different AI agent  that I have. I have this department overview, and what this is is a little bit more complex of a prompt. However, it's allowing me to use more flexibility by using this vendor spend by department, which is a custom report that I created. So this gives me more flexibility and more power through my reporting. So I'm gonna submit this and run this one one more time here. this is, is actually using a report which has more visuals and a little bit better formatting, which is an easy to digest report for my department leaders. As this gets created, we're gonna see a couple things here. We're gonna see visualizations, we're gonna see great formatting, and we're gonna see easy to read. here we go. I didn't have to prompt it on how to create it, what it's gonna look like. I just get provided the information that I want to see within it, and we can see here top 10 business partners by spend for this department. We can see a visualization of how that tracks next to each other, and then we can see vendor expense by this specific account. And then finally, at the very end, I asked to give it a gap income statement so I can show the full P&L throughout the year. So again, very powerful stuff with a relatively simple prompt.

Using custom reports, I'm able to create a wonderful report that I can share with my business leaders.

Another reason that I've been skeptical about AI is protection of my data. So the great thing about using the Everest system is that my data stays contained in the system and it goes out and grabs the code, applies it to my data, all without my data ever leaving the system. So I can feel much more safe about where my data is going or where it's not going.

And another thing, a great thing about the system is the live sandbox. So. I'm trying to change as few things as possible 'cause I'm afraid of what's gonna happen, whether that's a realistic fear or not. With the live sandbox, I'm able to take production data instantly, move it into a sandbox or a much safer space, and I can start playing with these AI agents, making changes on the fly and see how it applies to my production data. And so in that demo we just saw with the AI agents, I was in a sandbox setting so I could safely change things, move things, try things, and then apply these AI agents to it and see how it would look in the production setting so I can gain comfort around changing things and then move it into my production tenant and see that progress in action.

If your  team is looking to make a change and wanna discuss challenges that you're facing, please feel free to reach out. I love to talk about this.
